Welcome! We are so glad that you have chosen one of the premier HR Professional Development opportunities in the country! This presentation will cover items that will help you have an enjoyable experience and make the most out of your time. Follow us on using #OHSHRM15

Before the Conference confirmed registrants will receive additional information via regarding the conference- including your “ticket.” Please print your ticket or leave the ticket on your smart phone to speed up the process. We will be scanning your ticket once you check into registration for your name badge and conference materials. Coming Attractions……

Coming Attractions…….

Dress code for the conference is very flexible. Most people will be wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. The Conference Hall is big, so please prepared to do some walking. Our social event theme is a Neon Dance Club Party so please feel free to dress to the nines for the occasion! You will receive a conference ID badge when you check in. You should wear this to all sessions and events, including the Thursday evening social event. Coming Attractions……

Meals are included with the conference registration. This begins with lunch on Wednesday and continues through lunch on Friday. Kalahari has several on-site restaurants located in the main area of the hotel. If you choose one of these options it will be outside of the conference and the cost will be your responsibility. Coming Attractions……

Parking is free at Kalahari and there are several parking lots available. You may choose to park closer to the conference center or closer to your hotel room. Hotel Check in is in the main lobby of the hotel which is a little bit of a walk from the conference center. We recommend that you wait until after the opening general session to check in because there is a chance that your room may not be ready when you first arrive and it’s a lot of walking if you have to come back a second time! Where can you get more information? Your program guide that will be in your conference bag at check-in will have details on all events, times for programs, Exhibit Hall prize drawings, book signings, etc. The Conference App can be downloaded with the schedule, events, map and location of all sessions. Conference Committee Members are multi-taskers here to help you with anything you need. Each day we wear matching shirts so we are easy to find.

Coming Attractions…… The Conference has an app that can guide you through the various events, speakers and exhibit hall. This app is free and works on all Droid, Apple and HTML5 To download the app go to: ddut.ch/ohioshrm ddut.ch/ohioshrm –Your username is the address used to register for this year’s conference –Your password is RedCarpet

Make sure to bring plenty of business cards with you to give out to other attendees as you network, and also to connect with our amazing vendors in the Exhibit Hall. This year the vendors in the Exhibit Hall will be utilizing an app. They will use your ID Number from your badge to make the right connection with each attendee. Coming Attractions……

You can download the presentation of our speakers by using the link and password sent to you before the conference via . You will also have access to all the presentations if you choose to download the conference app. Coming Attractions……

If you are coming to the conference with guests and they would like to come to the Thursday night social, please remember that you need to purchase a guest ticket ($50) for them. This years social features a Neon Dance Party including an appetizer reception and dinner followed by entertainer Judson Laipply and dancing with DJ Rock! You can purchase these online through the online registration page on our website. Coming Attractions……

Kalahari has two large ball rooms. We’ll be using the Kilimanjaro Ballroom for the Exhibit Hall. The Thursday evening event is in the Kalahari Ballroom. The Registration Booth for conference check-in is near the west entrance, across from the Kilimanjaro Ballroom and next to the Orange Room. Resource Partners and Speakers can check-in here as well.

The Conference Registration area will open on Wednesday morning, 9/16/15, at 7:30 am. This will be on the west end hallway across from the Exhibit Hall. This will also be the Conference lost and found, and the place to answers during the week. It’s Showtime……

We will have committee members and volunteers in the hallway so don’t be afraid to ask if you need directions. Don’t miss our pre-conference session at 8:30 am-Tony Fiori, Legislative Update We have been approved for 17.5 SHRM Professional Development Credits (PDC) and approved for 17.5 recertification credits (7.5 of which may be considered for business credits) from the HR Certification Institute. It’s Showtime……

Opening Session kicks off at 10:00. Join us for a fun networking opportunity, lunch and our opening speaker, Successful Entrepreneur and winner of The Apprentice, Bill Rancic. It’s Showtime……

The SHRM bookstore is back for For ease and convenience, the bookstore will be located in the west hallway across from registration. Again this year, many of our speakers will be available for book signings. Please check the program guide or the conference app for dates and times. Book signings will be held outside the bookstore. It’s Showtime……

Once again we have brought together top vendors for HR Professionals in one location. Our Exhibit Hall will offer over 100 different vendors. Hours:Wednesday, September 16 Exhibit Hall Grand Opening; 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, September 17; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

At the end of Day 1 there are several special events for you to enjoy. Exhibit Hall Reception starts right after all the sessions and runs until 8:00 pm. There will be appetizers, heavy finger foods and beverages available. This is a perfect opportunity to get to know our exhibitors. There are also special events hosted by various vendors, so there are many opportunities to network. At 9:30 pm, Longnecks will be open for drinks, dancing and networking. Longnecks is located in the hallway between the conference center and the hotel rooms. Near the hut rooms. It’s Showtime……

Silent Auction The Ohio State Council will be holding a silent auction to benefit Cathy (Maher) Schonauer. Cathy is a long time State Conference/State Council volunteer and is recovering from Sepsis. Cathy endured the most severe stage, Septic Shock and both of her hands and feet were amputated in order to save her life. We will have many fabulous items to bid on to help Cathy on her road to recovery. It’s Showtime……

Thursday starts off with early bird sessions starting at 7:15 am. Breakfast will be available in the hallways and exhibit hall at 7 am. We will have several concurrent sessions to choose from throughout the day as well as general sessions featuring Jennifer McClure, Robin Schooling and Bill Boorman. Exhibit Hall will also be open for Day 2 and lunch will be provided at noon. Exhibit Hall will wrap up with final prize drawings between 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm. We will conclude the day with a fun filled social event that includes an appetizer reception and dinner followed by a great night of comedy and dance. Don’t miss out on this fun event! The event will start at 7:00 pm – 1:00 am in the Kalahari Ballroom. It’s Showtime……

Start your day off at 7:15 am with our early bird sessions. Breakfast will be served at 7 am in the hallway. There are several great concurrent sessions and our general closing session that you will not want to miss. The closing session includes lunch and doors will open at 11:30 am in the Kalahari ballroom. Be prepared to listen to the amazing story of a postal carrier named Fred! Best selling author Mark Sanborn will be joining us and sharing insights that you can take back to your organizations to help create employee loyalty, innovative thinking and an elevated workplace experience. The Curtain Call……

Please complete the conference feedback survey, which is available through your conference app. Surveys are also accessible via your tablet, laptop or pc. If you can’t access the app we will be ing a link after the conference. Our speakers and conference committee rely heavily on your feedback. Critics Corner……
