Special day I wake up in the morning Put my clothes on in a rush Grab my bubble gum tooth paste And put too much on my brush Because I have to get my teeth extra clean For this special day Mom calls up the stairs I say “I’m on my way” I head down the stairs Jumping them in two’s Almost tripping on the last one Because I forgot to tie my shoes Running down the hallway With a big grin on my face Looking like a princess In my pink dress trimmed with lace Turning the corner To see all my friends are there All the boys in there party hats The girls with tiaras in their hair Then I see the prettiest Pink cake ever made All three layers iced In a different shade I open all my presents And eat the cake with my friends The only bad part of the day Is when the best birthday party EVER Finally ends.

Mad Years of every little thing that happened All stored up inside my head Heartbreak after backstab Like a file cabinet full of dread Keeping it all inside Only makes it worse I feel like I need To scream, hit and curse I’ve locked it in as long as I can Now I’m going to explode And you will sit and listen While I let my brain unload Then when it’s all over I’ll feel better for a while Then something else will happen And I’ll start a brand new file Then the anger will keep building Again I’ll hold it in And until the next explosion My only relief is this paper and a pen.

Then it’s a whole new world New creatures, new sounds Bats in the air And rats on the ground. The stars are shining But nothing prettier than the moon Summer is my favorite Especially the month of June The sky is clear The air is warm Flowers grow As bees swarm. The grass is mowed Bushes trimmed And a few hours later The earth is dimmed.

Always there when I need to talk Never to busy to call Last time I came over We wrote all over the wall. We are always loud No matter where we are She is the one who made fun of me Because, I couldn’t put gas in my car. English was our favorite class We wrote all over the board We made fun of sleeping people Because they always snored Even though we will grow up We will always keep in touch Because she is my best friend And I love her very much.

All grown up Things have changed. Everything in my life, Is being rearranged. I’m not sure I like it. But I have to deal. Because I can’t change things back, No matter how I feel. Graduation day, Is what I’ve waited for. I can leave this school And slam the door. Start a whole new chapter And a brand new life Going from a daughter To being someone’s wife. And one day ill leave this world And I’ll leave this poem in a binder So you won’t forget me It’s my permanent reminder.
