Approx 4 million Palestinians and 40,000 Israeli settlers live in the territory. DISPUTED Control. Land for Peace: UN resolution asked Israel to return the occupied lands to Palestine/Arab nations in exchange for peace. –Israel to withdraw from occupied territories –States in the region must recognize each other’s right to exist –Resolution of the Palestinian refugee problem
