It is a very strong concentration of population and economic activities, to a large extent of international significance; a development-promoting factor is its good accessibilty by motorways and speedways as well as by the 1st transit railway corridor. Growing international cooperation ties connect this area mainly to the areas of Vienna and Bratislava.
