Erate Funding What does this mean for my district? Where do I apply? Is there anything that can help me apply? What do I need to keep in mind when filling out the application?

What is Erate? In general Erate was designed to get schools connected to the Internet The funding is collected through an additional tax on your phone bill The funding is then managed by the Schools and Libraries Division Upon successful application schools receive a % discount on many of the items needed to connect a school to the Internet

What types of things are funded? Network Wiring Servers to Connect to the Internet Network Switches Telecommunications Items

How does this effect excess utilities? Because Erate funds Telecommunications items it can decrease a schools cost in this area Schools can receive up to a 90% discount on services such as: Phone Lines (POTS or T-1’s) Wireless Phones
