Service Sector

Occupational safety and health - Service sector 1 As the number of service sector jobs has risen in developed countries, more and more jobs have become sedentary lifestyle|sedentary, presenting a different array of health problems than those associated with manufacturing and the primary sector. Contemporary problems such as the growing rate of obesity and issues relating to stress (psychological)|stress and overwork in many countries have further complicated the interaction between work and health.

Occupational safety and health - Service sector 1 According to data from the 2010 NHIS- OHS, hazardous physical/chemical exposures in the service sector were lower than national averages

Tertiary sector of the economy - Service sector 1 The service sector consists of the soft parts of the economy, i.e

Tertiary sector of the economy - Service sector 1 :In the United States 70 percent of the workforce works in the service sector; in Japan, 60 percent, and in Taiwan, 50 percent. These are not necessarily busboys and live-in maids. Many of them are in the professional category. They are earning as much as manufacturing workers, and often more.”The Borderless World: Power and Strategy in the Interlinked Economy by Kenichi Ohmae

Services marketing - Service sector 1 The size of service sector is increasing in almost all economies around the world. As national economy develops, the relative share of employment among the agricultural industry, and the service industry change dramatically. Even in emerging economies, service output is growing rapidly and often repress

Service sector 1 The 'tertiary sector of the economy' (also known as the 'service sector' or the 'service industry') is one of the three economic sectors, the others being the secondary sector (approximately the same as manufacturing) and the primary sector (agriculture, fishing, and extraction such as mining).

Service sector - Theory of progression 1 Historically, manufacturing tended to be more open to international trade and competition than services. However, with dramatic cost reduction and speed and reliability improvements in the transportation of people and the communication of information, the service sector now includes some of the most intensive international competition, despite residual protectionism.

Social structure of the United Kingdom - Emergent service sector 1 The emergent service sector, about 19% of British society, shows relatively poor economic capital, but reasonable household income, moderate social contacts, high emerging (but low highbrow) cultural capital. Typical occupations include bartender|bar staff, chefs, Unlicensed assistive personnel|nursing auxiliaries and assistants, assemblers and routine operatives, care workers, elementary storage occupations, customer service occupations, musicians.

Economy of Liverpool - Service sector 1 In common with much of the rest of the UK today, Liverpool's economy is dominated by Tertiary sector of the economy|service sector industries, both public and private. In 2007, over 60% of all employment in the city was in the public administration, education, health, banking, finance and insurance sectors.

Great British Class Survey - Emergent service sector 1 The emergent service sector, about 19 percent of British society, shows relatively poor economic capital, but reasonable household income, moderate social contacts, high emerging (but low highbrow) cultural capital. Typical occupations include bartender|bar staff, chefs, Unlicensed assistive personnel|nursing auxiliaries and assistants, assemblers and routine operatives, care workers, elementary storage occupations, customer service occupations, musicians.

Great British Class Survey - Emergent service sector 1 They fill a wide variety of low paid Tertiary sector of the economy|service sector slots

Economy of Canada - Service sector 1 The service sector in Canada is vast and multifaceted, employing about three quarters of Canadians and accounting for 78% of GDP

Economy of Canada - Service sector 1 The second largest portion of the service sector is the business services, employing only a slightly smaller percentage of the population. This includes the financial services, real estate, and communications industries. This portion of the economy has been rapidly growing in recent years. It is largely concentrated in the major urban centres, especially Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver (see Banking in Canada).

Economy of Lithuania - Service sector 1 The service sector accounts for the largest share of GDP. One of the most important sub-sectors is information and communication technologies. 37 thousand employees work for more than 2000 ICT companies. ICT received 9.5% of total FDI. 11 out of 20 biggest IT companies from Baltic countries are based in Lithuania. Lithuania exported 31% of its IT services in the first quarter of 2009.[ iles/dir30/dir1/15_0.php Baltic ICT Market News, November 2009]

Castilla-La Mancha - Service sector 1 Counted in the service sector are commerce, tourism, hospitality, finance, public administration, and administration of other services related to culture and leisure.

Economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Service sector 1 The service sector in Prijedor is growing rapidly and this reflects in the growth of hotels, stores, roads, educational facilities and shoppings centers that are being built in the city.
