OCR Nationals Unit 11 Video

Michael and his group were planning to film their video project over Christmas.. They set a date aside knowing the deadline was looming arranged everyone to be there.. Then on the day their was a snow storm and school was shut so no-one could get together,.. Filming didn’t happen and the group failed the project.. What should they have done?

Learning Objectives To understand the requirements when planning a video project To plan your video project.

Success Criteria Pass Candidates provide a clear description the main areas of content for a video of at least 3minutes long. Candidates produce a clear storyboard and script as appropriate. The plan for video production will be complete, but there may be gaps or planning may not reflect best practice. The plan may not be adhered to fully. Merit Candidates provide a detailed description relating to the main areas of content for a video of at least 3 minutes long. Candidates produce an effective storyboard and script as appropriate. The plan for video production will be complete and will reflect best practice. The plan is mainly adhered to. It should be amended to show any changes that may have been necessary. Distinction Candidates provide a comprehensive description including creative decisions relating to all areas of content for a video of at least 3 minutes long. Candidates produce an effective storyboard and script as appropriate that show some understanding of professional conventions. The plan for video production will be complete, covering contingencies and reflects best practice. The video is recorded according to the plan and the plan is updated to reflect any necessary changes. Contingency plans are put into effect if necessary

Starter If you want someone else to film your project what can you put in place to make sure it's filmed accurately? Time and people management is crucial when working on video projects what can you put in place to ensure you are on top of things?

Task 1 – main Using the template given you need to create a plan for your video taking into account the following. Overview Give an overview of what your video will be about and where it will be used Creative decisions Any decisions about genre theme sounds etc... Availability of resources Think of resources you will need and where will you get them from... And also list potential problems with availability Contingency plans What will you do if..... List the problems and plan what you will do if they happen Best practice What is best practice when filming and editing.. List and explain your findings.
