Languages for Jobs New perspective on Multingualism policies

Thematic working group within the field of languages for jobs to establish policy recommendations on how to enhance the role of languages in improving the chances of employment; scope of the group - languages in vocational education and training;

Demand for languages and linguistic skills on the labour market Employers are increasingly unwilling to recruit monolinguals

What languages are needed ? Languages of main trading partners Languages of neighboring countries Languages brought by immigrants Job specific language skills (languages for specific purposes)

Language offer in the education systems and VET New ways of integrating foreign languages are urgently needed Teacher training Content oriented teaching (CLIL/EMILE)

Language learning and validation Validation of linguistic and communication competences Validation of informal language skills Accreditation of training institutions
