Presentation transcript:

I’m one of the two mammals that can lay eggs, I have two names, live near water in a long burrow, an excellent swimmer, have a bill and webbed feet like a duck

I can hop up to 9 meters and travel up 50 km per hour, I have a pouch in front with a joey who stays there for 8 months, my new born baby is only 3 cm long, I can be high as a man and small as a rabbit

My body is covered with hair and sharp spines which I use for protection, I use a sticky tongue (35cm long) to pick up ants, I sleep during winter, can live up to 50 years, I’m a relative to platypus

I live in forests and eat grass and plants, I’m the largest burrowing animal in the world, can grow up to 1m, I’m furry and carry my baby in a pouch

My name means “drinks no water”, I’m a good swimmer and can run quickly, I live in trees and spend my day eating, climbing and sleeping, I can eat 1kg of eucalyptus leaves per day and never drink water

I have large paws and short hair, I can be seen all over Australia, I eat small mammals, insects, lizards, reptiles, I do not bark like dogs but howl

You can see small wings but I can’t fly though I’m the largest bird in Australia, I can run up to 50 km/hour, I get angry easily

I’m called so because of the sounds I produce and my aggressive behaviour, I’m in danger of extinction because of cancer

I make loud, long calls that sound like laughter, I live mainly in Tasmania, my babies are born naked and blind

There are of my relatives in Australia now, you can get to know us in parks and on farms, but look out as we can hop up to 4m high, and we like yummy tourists
