Objective #1   The students will be able to gain an understanding of the origin of St. Patrick’s Day.

Materials Needed   Video: “The History of St. Patrick’s Day” ay/ ay/   Paper   Markers/Crayons   Glue   Scissors   Print Out of song: “St. Patrick’s Day”   Powerpoint   Pictures of Ireland/St. Patrick’s Day   Various “green” foods

Student Activity #1   Create KWL chart for St. Patrick’s Day   Watch History Channel video: “The History of St. Patrick’s Day” (4:20)   Distribute copies of “Saint Patrick’s Day” song and sing aloud
