The Pemberton Trail A community building initiative and recreational opportunity for an urban trail through historic Rockland, linking south oak bay with downtown Victoria Prepared Nov 2004 by Ken Milbrath, BSc geography, MBA
The Pemberton Trail Vision Imagine being able to walk from Anderson Hill in South Oak Bay to Downtown Victoria without vehicular traffic. Imagine being able to climb to the highest elevation south of Mt Tolmie, in Rockland, past Pemberton’s mansions, past Dunsmuir’s Craigdarroch Castle, onto the Art Gallery or a side trip to Government House, and then straight into downtown via the YW/YMCA using quiet Meares St. Imagine seniors being able to walk to their care facility and network at their community center. Imagine a reduction of crime as law-biding citizens including our youth, become more visible in the community. This is the Pemberton Trail
