State GIS Council Formed around 2000 as part of an effort to better coordinate State GIS activities Mostly CA state based, but includes local, tribal, federal, private representation Encouraged the formation of Regional GIS Councils to further support, and communicate throughout the state Activity has varied over the years Now part of the State’s CIO

CCJDC Central Coast Joint Data Committee Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito Mostly driven and supported by AMBAG Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments, regional planning organization A couple of other key supporting people Good success in completing cooperative projects

CIRGIS Channel Islands Regional GIS Collaborative Ventura, southern Santa Barbara counties Initial 1997 formation by Ventura Co. & others Current support by cities, counties, nonprofits, UCSB, Ventura College, key individuals 501(c) nonprofit, has financial standing, board Most funding by grants & cooperative projects Some cooperative projects (aerials 2 yr cycle) Data sharing agreements
