Cinderella By Deanna Deanna Ferrante Period 7

Once upon a time, in a far away kingdom, a young girl named Cinderella lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters. Cinderella knew her stepmother was out to get her, and that she just wanted to make her life miserable by assigning her horrible chores. Everyone in town thought that she was a pleasant, wonderful lady with very respectful and beautiful daughters, but to Cinderella, she was an evil woman bent on destroying her life.* *This is part of Cinderella’s persecutory delusional disorder. Her stepmother is a kind, wonderful woman, but Cinderella believes that she is out to get her. My prince is waiting for me! But Cinderella didn’t mind. Everyday, she would wake up and look out her bedroom window and see the royal castle where the prince lived. She knew the day would arrive soon when the prince would come and claim her from her dreaded house. He was madly in love with her, despite the fact that they had never met.* *This is another part of Cinderella’s delusional disorder. She also experiences erotomanic episodes, which cause her to believe that another person, in this case the prince, is hopelessly in love with her. My prince is waiting for me! One day, the family received a letter that the prince would be holding a royal ball. Everyone was invited, and the stepmother encouraged Cinderella to attend. But Cinderella thought it was a sneaky trick to humiliate her, and refused to go with the rest of her family. One day, the family received a letter that the prince would be holding a royal ball. After they had left, Cinderella ran into the garden in tears After they had left, Cinderella ran into the garden in tears. Suddenly, a bright light emerged from the darkness and a magic fairy appeared. She was Cinderella’s fairy godmother, and would grant Cinderella any wish her heart desired. Cinderella said, “Please help me get to the ball. The prince is awaiting my arrival. I would hate to break his heart by not attending.” The fairy godmother waved her wand and Cinderella was suddenly wearing an elegant gown. The fairy then turned a giant pumpkin and four field mice into a carriage and horses. “Just be careful, the spell will end at midnight,” the fairy godmother said as she sent Cinderella on her way. When Cinderella got to the ball, she immediately sought out the prince When Cinderella got to the ball, she immediately sought out the prince. After finding him, she continued to follow him throughout the night. The prince tried to politely excuse himself, but Cinderella assumed that it was because he didn’t want anyone to know about their forbidden romance. As midnight drew closer, Cinderella finally took off one of her glass slippers and gave it to the prince, saying “Keep this as a reminder of our love. I know that one day you will come and return it to me. Then, we can live happily ever after.” As the clock struck twelve, Cinderella fled the ball, leaving a very confused prince behind. After finding out that Cinderella had attended the ball and harassed the poor prince, her stepmother decided it was finally time for Cinderella to get some help. She took Cinderella to see the town psychiatrist who gave her atypical antipsychotic medicine, including delusion-reducing drugs like asenapine, and hired a professional therapist to offer support and guidance to her daughter. Cinderella gradually began to trust her family, and was able to fall in love with the local farmer, who actually loved her back.
