Importance of this Study  Moving into a digital future  Needs of users are changing and how they access information  Need a clear vision based on consensus about the future direction  Want to know, document, and represent voices of all library types

Goals  Understanding of pressing issues, goals, and viewpoints of FDLP members of all library types  Documenting the needs, vision, and environment in which individual FDLP depositories exist and at the state level  Documenting the goals and initiatives of states and multi-state Federal Depository regions to determine how GPO can best complement these efforts

FDLP Library Forecasts  Pilot-tested  30 FDLP Members including Members of Council  Incorporated feedback and modified questionnaire accordingly  Further and deeper than biennial surveys, previous efforts

FDLP State Forecasts  Areas:  Economic  Demographic  Collection Management  Preservation Issues  Education  Affiliations and Community Marketing  Opinion on the benefits of current LSCM projects  Future Roles
