Datron World Communications Inc. B.I.T.E DESIGNED TO AID IN TROUBLESHOOTING THE EQUIPMENT DOWN TO THE MODULE LEVEL CHECKS THAT EACH BOARD IS PRESENT CHECK FOR PRESCNESE OF INTERNAL OPTIONS CHECKS THE PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN KEY PARAMETERS VERIFIES PROPER VOLTAGES IN EACH MODULE IT IS ACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY UPON RADIO POWER UP OR IS MANUALY ACTIVATED BY ALPHA – 20 ON THE KEYPAD

Datron World Communications Inc. BASIC PERFORMANCE TEST 1. VERIFY SOURCE AC OR DC INPUT POWER 2. ATTACH MICHROPHONE 3. ATTACH 50 OHM ANTENNA 4. TURN POWER SWITCH “ON” 5. VERIFY BITE CIRCUIT ACTIVATION 6. TURN SPEAKER SWITCH ON AND VOL CONTROL UP 7.SELECT A KNOWN FREQUENCY AND LISTEN AND INSURE THERE IS AUDIO PRESENT AT BOTH MIC CONNECTORS AND SPEAKER

NO FRONT PANEL CONTROL THIS CONDITION IS AN INDICATOR THAT THE MAIN PROCESSOR BOARD IS OUT OF LOCK AND MUST BE RESET TURN THE RADIO OFF REMOVE THE TOP COVER PLACE A JUMPER AT JU10-D OF THE PROCESSOR BOARD TURN THE RADIO ON AND KEEP THE JUMPER ON JU10-D TURN THE RADIO OFF AND REMOVE THE JUMPER AT THIS POINT THE RADIO IS RESET TO THE NORMAL FACTORY SETTINGS

Datron World Communications Inc. TRANSCEIVER DOES NOT TURN ON CHECK EXTERNAL POWER SOURCE FOR 11 – 16 Vdc MEASURE DC VOLTAGE AT REAR PANEL CHECK THE REAR PANEL FUSE CHECK THE FRONT PANEL POWER SWITCH FOR PROPER MECHANICAL OPERATON MEASURE THE INTERNAL POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE REGULATORS

Datron World Communications Inc. NO FRONT PANEL CONTROL TURN RADIO OFF THEN ON VERIFY RIBBON CABLE IS PROPERLY CONNECTED RESET THE MAIN PROCESSOR SYSTEMATICALLY REPLACE EACH BOARD UNTIL PROBLEM IS CORRECTED

Datron World Communications Inc. NO FRONT DISPLAY VERIFY FRONT PANEL VOLTAGE REGULATORS AT J1 PINS 3, 4 FOR +12 and +5 Volts DC VERIFY THAT ALL CABLES ON THE FRONT PANEL ARE PROPERLY SEATED AND CONNECTED

Datron World Communications Inc. NO RECEIVE AUDIO SYSTEMATICALLY REPLACE THE FOLLOWING BOARDS 75 Mhz IF Board 5 Mhz IF Board Audio Board 1. VERIFY THAT THE SPEAKER SWITCH IS ON 2. VERIFY THAT THE VOLUME KNOB IS AT LEAST HALF WAY

Datron World Communications Inc. NO TRANSMIT VERIFY THAT ALPHA 18 (RX/TX) IS ON CHECK THAT THE MICROPHONE IS NOT DEFECTIVE VERIFY THAT ALL FRONT PANEL CABLES ARE CONNECTED SYSTEMATICALLY REPLACE THE FOLLOWING BOARDS 75 Mhz IF Board 5 Mhz IF Board AUDIO Board RF FILTER BOARD RX/TX RELAY PA Board

Datron World Communications Inc. POWER LEVEL VERIFICATION AND SETTING SELECT LOW POWER PRESS ALPHA 5 ON THE DISPLAY THEN “E” ENTER THE NUMBER 5 AND PRESS “E” REPETE THIS PROCESS FOR MEDIUM AND HIGH POWER
