Do we place too little or too much value in human life? Use specific examples to explain your position. Write at least a five sentence paragraph response.

Critical writing tries to persuade readers of the validity of an arguable claim. A big part of convincing readers is showing them that you, the writer, understand all sides of an issue. In other words, you need to address counterarguments. Your writing needs to present the other side of an argument and then show why your position is the correct one.

Think about your views on technology in the classroom. Are you for each student having his/her own computer or against it? Write a paragraph that refers to A COUNTER- ARGUMENT. Be sure to REFUTE this counter- argument. Begin with the appropriate transition word/phrase: Admittedly, Granted, Although, While it is true, etc.

 Who makes a better leader: someone who is loved or someone who is feared? Take a position and explain your answer.  Write at least a five sentence paragraph response that begins with a clearly stated topic sentence.

Since the beginning of time, man has told one another stories filled with fear and terror. Today, horror fiction and horror movies are a multi-million dollar business. Why do people love scary movies/stories? Do you personally love this genre? What’s your favorite scary movie? Do you remember your first scary movie? Like all prompts, write a paragraph response that is at least five sentences.

 If you were absent and still need to make up a writing warm-up, check WEEBLY, respond to the prompt, and turn in your warm-ups tomorrow.  - What do you think of the M-Step? What do you think about standardized testing in general? Would it be easier if you knew the purpose of the tests? Do you feel your aptitude or content knowledge is being properly assessed?  Write at least a five sentence paragraph response.
