International Cooperative Trade Network Introduction: International Trade is an exchange of Goods and services across international boundaries or territories. In most countries, it contributes a significant share in the GDP. International trade has been present throughout the history (silk rout, amber rout etc.). Its economic, social and political importance has been on the rise in recent centuries particularly after globalisation. Due to globalisation, the whole world has became a market place for international trade where most of the countries are participating for exchange of goods and services in a big way.

International Cooperative Trade Network Business operations of cooperatives basically has been limited to domestic markets so far with few exceptions. But due to the challenges of globalization and privatization, the cooperatives are left with no option but to extend their business operations across their national territorial boundaries. So far cooperatives are doing international trade in a very limited way in certain countries without any systematic approach. Therefore, there is a need to systematise international trade through cooperative network.

International Cooperative Trade Network At present there is no cooperative organisation at international level which can network cooperative trading organisations and facilitate them in export/import of their products across their countries. Therefore, for networking of international trade through cooperatives, there is a need for an international cooperative trade organisation.
