Classroom Procedures! Your guide to: surviving thriving in and enjoying science this year!

Getting started each day: Quick write: What do you think are the first three things you should do when you come into the classroom each day? 1. Get your science notebook. 2. Read the LFD and follow the directions. BTW—one of the directions will ALWAYS be what to to with your laptop. 3. Be IN your SEAT before the bell rings!!!

Supplies: Quick write: What four things do you think you will need in class each day? 1. pencil or ball point pen (no sharpies!) 2. Lined binder paper. 3. Your science notebook 4. Your chrome book

Laptop Policy in this classroom: Quick write: How do you think you’ll know if you need to turn on your laptop in class? 1.READ the LFD when you come in—it will tell you what to do with the laptop. 2.FOLLOW the directions on the board. Laptop consequences: First offense—off the computer for the rest of the period. I hold it up front. Second offense—off the computer for the next 5 days. I hold it up front. Third offense—NO computer in this class until we’ve had a conference with parent and counselor

Forget Something? Quick write: What do you think you should do if you forget something? 1. Borrow it from a friend before class starts. 2. Borrow a pencil from me. BUT YOU MUST TRADE ME A SHOE FOR A PENCIL. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! =

Quick write: When do you use the bathroom, get water or get stuff from your locker? ONLY during passing time!!! (We only have 55 minutes for science—we need to make every minute count!)

Quick write: Where do you find out what you have for homework? Right here on the front board!

Quick write: Where do you find out what days I have study club that week? Also here on the front board!

QUICK WRITE: Where do you find the date? On the front board above learning goal!

Where do you find work if you’ve been absent? First, check the calendar on the side board!!! Then, if there was a hand out, get it from the “extra worksheets” in the crate.

What is the tardy policy in this classroom? You are in your seat With all your materials Getting started on the work WHEN THE TARDY BELL RINGS!!!!

TARDY CONSEQUENCES: 1 ST TARDY= WARNING 2 ND TARDY = LUNCH DUTY 3 RD TARDY = CLASSROOM DETENTION 4 TH – 5 TH TARDY = DETENTION THROUGH OFFICE 6 TH + TARDY = ADMINISTRATIVE REFERRAL

Turning in work! Quick write: What do you think you should do with work you need to turn in? ALL work gets turned into the class folder in the back. If you are absent check the website or the side board to see what you missed.
