Alignment with e-Justice EC Working Party on e-Justice – 2009 Roadmap – the opportunity of partial integration in e-Justice Portal will be investigated In accordance with the roadmap EULIS is currently linked to from the European e-Justice Portal with information from Member States Land Registrys –Easiest for user if access all through one portal –Beneficial for general public, professionals & government departments Partial integration must be clearly defined - opportunity for the future. Funding from Civil Justice programme (EC-Directorate General Justice )

Possible uses of the new platform Project LINE aims to deliver a technical platform, which will: provide information from Land Registers create opportunities for Land Register services for the future i.e. final results of CROBECO be suitable for integration into European e-Justice Portal We will also provide reference information.

Project LINE Aim The project specifically aims to facilitate compliance with the requirements of the e-Justice programme in the area of land registration.

1.To build the community of official land registry organisations across all EU member states in order to facilitate their participation in and compliance with the European e-Justice programme. 2. To deliver the next generation EULIS platform, which is technologically and financially-viable and through which land registry organisations across Europe can provide cross-border services. 3. To identify and define a wide-ranging set of land information services and value-added products across Europe for delivery through the European e-Justice portal, which will benefit legal practitioners and professionals associated with the administration of justice in the area of civil law (including solicitors, judges, notaries, bailiffs and other stakeholders) and improve the functioning of the internal market. 4. To facilitate cross-border access to and use of legal information on real property to a wide range of users. Project LINE Objectives

1.An enlarged and strengthened community among land registry organisations, specifically in regards to creating a platform for European access. 2.A next generation technical platform, which EULIS can offer new land registry organisations the possibility to connect easily and cost-effectively for sharing services across Europe. 3.Access to registers and information that will facilitate business processes and information needs to European professional customers/enterprises and citizens alike. Project LINE Deliverables

Project LINE Target audiences Land registry organisations (official bodies) of European Member States (those already members of EULIS and those who are not) Professional customers –Legal practitioners and professionals associated with the judiciary in the area of civil law (including solicitors, judges, notaries, bailiffs) –Investigators (including police, government departments, enforcement agencies) –Risk assessors and financial institutions (credit agencies, banks, building societies) General public (European-wide)
