METRIC SYSTEM The metric system is also known as SI. This stands for the System International.

GRAM Measuring mass in the metric system is done with the gram. An M&M is about 1 gram.

LITER Measuring volume in SI we use the liter. We commonly buy soda in one and two liter bottles.

METER Measuring distance or length in SI we use the meter. A meter is 3 inches longer than a yard.

PREFIXES Milli=1/1000 Centi=1/100 Deci=1/10 Kilo=1000

ACCURACY Accuracy is the degree of correctness or veracity. High accuarcy Low precision

PRECISION High precision Low accuracy Precision is the degree of Sameness or conformity.

PRECISION AND ACCUARACY It is important to have both accuracy and precision when doing a lab experiment.
