Page Quakers = Protestant reformer who believed in religious tolerance; also know as the Society of Friends. (example: Philadelphia was founded by William Penn who was a Quaker.) page Triangular Trade Route = regular trading route that formed a triangle between the West Indies, colonial America, England and Africa. (page 152) 15.Middle Passage = the forced trip between Africa and America made by enslaved Africans page Mayflower Compact = an agreement made by Puritan/ Pilgrim leaders that ensured self-government page Fundamental Orders of Connecticut = the first American constitutional or plan for government page constitution = a document presenting a plan of government page proprietary colony = a colony given to an individual by the king of England (page 139) 20.artisan = a person trained in a skill or labor page 152
