What is AR? Accelerated Reader is a reading management program that provides children with adequate access to books, an opportunity to select, read books and earn points by taking quizzes on the content of the books.

How will the students find the books? Students can read books in your classroom or check out books from the media center. Check the AR website to find quizzes website:http://www.renlearn.com/ar/ Most books have quizzes, feel free to double check

How can AR be accessed? AR can be used on any computer with internet access! Students will log on using student information numbers for the User Id and six digit birth date as their Password.

How do will my students get started? Students will read or hear an entire book. Type https://hosted115.renlearn.com/51385 Place this address in the favorites file. Type in student’s AR Username and Password (SASI number and six digit birthday) Click on Take Quiz!

How will I get started? Go the website https://hosted115.renlearn.com/51385/default.htm Click “Teacher/Administrator” Type your user name (the first time use your user name for your user name and password) Change your password Get comfortable with the program before you train your students Let your students decide when they are ready to take the ar quiz or use your own discretion Check your class points periodically Praise your quiz takers!

Who should take the quizzes? Students who have read or heard a book and understands or comprehends what was read. Students should also have read or heard the entire book, before a quiz is taken.
