Linguistics & AI2 Objectives and focus Explore and exploit the potential of state-of-the-art language technology for data-oriented research in linguistics. Emphasis on written language and transcribed speech. Focus on the synchronic study of Dutch and English, especially in the domains of Morphology Syntax Semantics

Language Technology Resources Annotated monolingual corpora Treebanks Annotated parallel corpora Tools Query tools for mining linguistic resources Linguistics & AI3

4 Teaching material A selection of articles and book chapters which report on data-oriented investigations of topics in linguistics and which explore the potential of current language technology Web site that gives access to the relevant resources and the tools

6 Evaluation Write a paper about a linguistic topic of your own choice in which you exploit the tools and resources that have been presented in the course Size: 10 pages, not including annexes.
