Amanda Cassidy Shandell Robl Mrs. Helmkamp ~Period Three

 There are about 9,000 species of sponges known in the world today  Sponges have multiple characteristics depending on specie, size, shape and form may differ

 Sponges have two layers of cells separated by jelly-like material  There are many pores in the outer layer to allow water to enter and be released  The inner layer typically have flagella used for food digestion

 Some sponges have spongean while others have amoebocyte REPRODUCTION  Sponges reproduce by regeneration and/or budding.  Some also use sexual reproduction DIGESTION  The flagella picks up food and helps digest it within the sponge

 Cnidarian
