I do not yet have a lab guide or script for this demo. I have not tested this vApp extensively, so support is done on a best effort basis. center is the vCenter Server and has the TSM for VE installed, and is the Data Mover tsmserver is the TSM server vSphere1 is the ESX 5.5 host machine The TSM server credentials are admin1/admin1 The password for everything else is Object00 This demo has lots of software. vCenter and the vApp will take 10 min or more to start. Be patient and start it in advance.

Log on to the center VM and launch the vSphere Web Client Use Windows session authentication

You will see errors in TSM for VE if the data move cad service starts before the TSM server. If this happens, stop the service and then restart it.

Expand the Enablement datacenter structure. Here you can see the nested VMs that are used to demonstrate Exchange IMR. Start the csipdc nested VM Start the csimail nested VM Wait for both to start and launch the console on csimail Note: There is even more datacenter class enterprise software here. It may take 5 min or so for the nested VMs to start. Be patient and/or do it in advance. Note you need vmware tools to be running to use cooperative application protection.

You now have a VMware console inside a VMware console. Close boxes and windows can be confusing. Csimail runs on Windows There is no Start Menu button. Point inside the VM and use CTRL/ESC to get the Metro Start Screen. You can also point to the upper right of the Windows 2012 console. You will see FCM/TDP for Exchange, VE Recovery Agent, and Internet Explorer on the Start Menu. Your vSphere web client is still open in a tab on the outer system. The Exchange EAC and Outlook web client are bookmarked in IE on csimail. CSI\Administrator is the exchange admin and CSI\demouser is a mailbox user.

Csimail has already been backed up with the include.vmtsmvss option. Start the recovery agent, point to , and mount the 60 GB drive from the latest VE backup as R/W.

You are now ready to do an IMR. Ctrl/Esc to get back to the csimail start menu. Start FlashCopy Manager. Select Exchange. Click the Recover tab. Close any dialogs that open. Click Open an EDB file on disk.

The edb file for csimail is in \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\V15\MailBxox\Mailbox Database \Mailbox Database edb Logs are in the same directory. HINT: If you get a message about repairing the EDB file, stop. The drive with the edb is not mounted RW. Unmount it and remount it as RW.
