Bellwork Please get out your Religion/Belief Systems Excerpts from yesterday. Absent? Please get your copy from the file. Current Event Presenter. Please get ready!

Step 1: Marking the Text ◦1. Number the paragraphs ◦2. Circle key ideas, names of people and places, and dates. ◦3. Highlight or box unfamiliar words. ◦4. Underline the main point or other relevant information. ◦5. Next to each document, summarize what it was all about.

Document A Main Idea: Judaism; God creates a relationship/promise between him and the Abraham/people of Canaan.

Document B Buddhism; Identifies suffering, why it happens, and how to stop it.

Document C Christianity; God tells people that with him, all of their worries and troubles will be resolved.

Document D Hinduism; Different classes of people (high to low)

Document E Islam; The five things that every good Muslim must do in their lives.

Document F Confucianism; Family values are important, lead with morals alone, morality is most important.

Add Supporting Details to Chart Using the Main Ideas, use your documents to find supporting details. You only need to include one per document.

Finally, Answer the Text Dependent Questions As a group, answer the Text Dependent Questions. This will be turned in before you leave today.
