day 1  7:00am  Arrive in  7:00am – 12:00pm  Take the train from Frankfurt to Berlin (5 hour drive).  12:00 pm  Arrive at the Winters (Reasonably priced, three star hotel located two minutes from public transportation with the tiergarten park near by. It is clean comfortable and modern)  12:00  Lunch Options: 1. Café Hardenberg (Omelets, salads and sandwiches, extremely affordable prices, constant conversation, loud music, and terrific terrace seating). 2. Dressler (French restaurant, the seasonal menu features such entrées as oysters and lobster).  2:00 pm  Denkmal fur die ermedenton Juden Europas (the Jewish memorial site designed after world war two to remember the Jewish people that died during the holocaust. There is a underground information site which shows all the names of the people who died located under the sculptures)  3:30 pm  Berliner trodelmarkt (German flea market): is one of the oldest and most expensive flee markets in Germany. Jules Verne (the perfect place to stop in for a full breakfast menu, which includes international breakfast and brunch items).  8:15am-12:00pm  Visit Museumsinsel (museum island. Some museums of interest may be neues museum, Altes museum, Berliner Dom.  12:15pm -100pm  Lunch Options: 1. Jolesch (Service is good and the menu offers meals for all appetites. Stop in after a day of shopping and sightseeing or for a nice business lunch). 2. Oxymoron (The outdoor seating constantly changes at Oxymoron, because the staff rearranges to seat diners as they arrive, the food is good. A great recommendation is the chicken with spinach and Parmesan).  1:15pm - 3:15pm  Visit the “Deutsch Historisches Museum”, or any other museums on the island that you find to be interesting.  3:15pm - 5:00pm  Choice between exploring the shopping area known as Friedrichstrabe/Visit Alexanderplatz (a public square)  5:45pm - 6:45pm  Dinner Options: 1. Tiergarten Quelle (home-cooked meals laden with potatoes, cheese and sauerkraut) 2. Restaurant (popular Duck à la Damien Hirst, served with black pepper sauce and vegetable rolls. Other superb entrees include grilled sirloin steak with ratatouille and parmesan-crusted breast of corn-fed chicken with black mushrooms and potato-rocket flan. In the summer). 3. Masaledar Conveniently located near Odeon cinemas, this restaurant offers well-prepared Indian cuisine for all to enjoy. day 3  7:30 -8:15  Breakfast Options: 1. Weltrestauraunt Markthalle (popular café on the Pücklerstrasse serves up delicious breakfasts all day. Good service and superb locale. Business casual attire). 2. Keyser Soze (all the classics (eggs, croissants, organic muesli etc.) are represented, you might like to the try the weißwurst – traditional poached sausages from Bavaria). 3. Opernpalais (for breakfast, the enormous buffet runs from morning to midday and costs less than €15).  8:30 -10:30  Walk to Checkpoint Charlie (the famous crossing place between one side of Germany and the other during World War II). There is a museum nearby, the Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie. Following this, you can walk in the Tiergarten park.  10:30-11:45  Take a taxi to either a) The Friedrichswerder Church is an 18 th century church designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the famous German Architect. The church itself is impressive, but it also houses a large collection of 19 th century german sculptures, as well as a room devoted to its designer’s works. Or b) The Deutches Historiches Museum. The building itself was built in 1695, making it the oldest building on the entire street. The DHM has a variety of exhibits, including a cold war room, a room full of artifacts from the last 2000 years of Germany’s existance, and an exhibit on the Nazi era. This would be an especially interesting museum for a retired history teacher to visit.  11:45-12:30  Lunch Options: 1. Barist (Cuisine: Austrian, Continental, European, French, and Italian). 2. Café im Literaturhaus Wintergarten (It's a great stop for a quick business lunch. With a bookstore on-site and a light menu to boot).  1:00  Taxi to Bebelplatz (a large public square in the middle of Berlin). There is a large window set into the ground, looking down on empty bookshelves.
