Hatchet by Gary Paulsen Part 2 Review

THE PREDATOR One night, while sleeping, a porcupine comes into Brian’s shelter looking for food.

FIRE! Brian threw his hatchet at the wall, which caused sparks.

FIRE Brian realizes he can use his hatchet to start a fire.

FISH FEAST Brian makes himself a spear and begins to catch fish.

FIRST MEAT DAY Brian decides to catch a foolbird with his spear. The foolbird are tricky because they are difficult to see.

ANOTHER PREDATOR While at the lake, Brian is attacked by a moose. The attack nearly killed him.

MAN –VS-NATURE Soon after the moose attack, a tornado strikes and completely destroys Brian’s camp.

THE PLANE!!! The tornado’s strong winds causes the water to move and the tail of the plane moves out above the water.

The Survival Pack Brian decides to retrieve the survival pack from the plane.

The Transmitter Brian finds a transmitter box, but assumes it is broken.

RESCUED A pilot picks up the transmission from the box and rescues Brian.
