Reading Anthology Book– excerpts from novels Leveled Readers –Practice individual skills Predicting, noting details, summarizing, cause/effect, etc. Novels –Hatchet, Small Steps, Tuck Everlasting, The Phantom Tollbooth, LARPS Articles used for Close Reading Supplemental reading / handouts

English / Writing Grammar & Vocab/Word Work –quizzes, activities/performance tasks, stations, worksheets, editing, integrate into writing Writing pieces –persuasive, informational, personal narrative, poetry, research

Homework Homework listed daily on Blue Dolphin Calendar Homework buddies listed in assignment book Emphasize recording homework everyday 3 missed homework assignments = lunch detention 3 days to get late work in before it turns into a zero. 10% off grade of assignment each day, up to 3 days. If assignment is gone over in class, student is not able to turn in for late work. Homework Help (for math) every day during 4 th period

4 th period – Enrichment Time If you have a student in band, orchestra or choir – please go to the auditorium during 4th period to hear from the music teachers about their performance classes! (should be on schedule already) During this period students do their homework, check in with teachers for missed work or extra support, go to the library or computer lab, or they can go to math help, taught daily by a 6 th grade teacher to help with homework or questions.
