Learning Targets (p.131) Today in class, I will… ◦ Analyze a claim, reasoning, and evidence in an argument. ◦ Identify and evaluate an author’s claims and use reasons and evidence to support a position.

Word Wall Vocab. Under vocabulary tab in your binder place your word wall handout, and write the following definition. ◦ Rhetoric: the language a writer/speaker uses to persuade an audience. ◦ Counterclaim: a claim made by someone with an opposing opinion on an issue.
