© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 2 Introduction  VUI directory handler accepts spoken input for a name or an arbitrary sequence of digits  User is prompted to disambiguate and confirm match  System transfers to the object for a name match  System dials the sequence of digits for an extension match  Restriction tables apply when trying to dial an extension match

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 3 Speech Confidence Threshold  Configured on each VUI directory handler  Values range from 0 to 100 (default is 10)  Lower values will return more name matches  Higher values will return less name matches  Tune lower if the list consistently does not include the user’s target  Tune higher if the list consistently includes many extraneous names

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 4 Name Matches  User speaks a name  System may return 1 or more name matches  If the highest scoring match is a name, then no extension matches will be returned  The list is sorted by confidence score

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 5 Extension Matches  User speaks a sequence of digits  System may return 1 extension match  If the highest scoring match is an extension match, then no name matches will be returned  If the confidence score is below the confirmation confidence threshold, the system will ask for confirmation

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 6 Presentation Options  During name disambiguation  Option to announce extension for each match  Option to announce city for each match  Option to announce department for each match

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 7 Grammar Filtering  User may say a name with a city or department  Example: “John Smith in Seattle”  Example: “John Smith in Seattle in Sales”  Uses City and Department fields from user objects

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 8 Search Scope  Group objects to limit the search scope  Entire server  Search space  Inherit search space

© 2006 Cisco Systems, Inc. All rights reserved.Cisco ConfidentialPresentation_ID 9 Caller Input  Specify action if caller exits the directory handler  Specify action if caller says “operator” or presses 0
