Non-fiction Characters: Fern, The Bone, The Great Realdo, The Blue Queen, Howard. Fern’s grandmothers house, The City beneath the City, and The Palace. The Blue Queen comes back and plans to take over the City beneath the City and the city above the City beneath the city(New York). Fern destroys the Blue Queen.

It started out on the staircase when a girl named Fern was eavesdropping on her dad and grandmother. They were talking about Fern and she wondered what they were saying cause she couldn’t here them. She got little snips of the sentences but she also heard lots of muffling too. One of the things she heard her grandmother (The Great Realdo) say was “We can’t let her battle the ‘muffle muffle’. It’s to dangerous.’’

Hmm what could the be talking about? Fern thought to her self. Then she heard the bone say something “I think she is ready to Battle the Blue Queen. She is probably smart enough.’’ To Fern, she wondered who this Blue Queen was cause she hade never heard of her before. Was she nice or mean? Fern decided to get some sleep cause she had school tomorrow. But before she went to bed she wrote in her diary what she had heard.

That next morning Fern woke up and went to school. Her friend Howard is in the same class as her. Then the person behind Fern pinched her and she got in trouble so her Howard tried to defend her but he got in trouble too. So their teacher made them go in the utility closet and hung them from their hoods and then the teacher’s hair turned in to a horse.

Fern and Howard were surprised but they got sent to the principal’s office and Fern’s dad came to pick them up. He took them to their house where they were sent into Fern’s room and the eavesdropped in the vent where hot air comes out. Fern took out the envelope that was in her pocket and read it. It was an invitation to the annual Anybodies convention. It had been humming in her jacket pocket of some reason.

It began to grow bigger as there parents began up the stairs. As they opened the door Fern and Howard went into the envelope and landed in a glass elevator where an elevator operator sat with a tight vest on and a glum expression on his face. Fern said “What is wrong?” he answered “I’ve always wanted to be an engineer.” “So why aren't you?”asked Fern. He answered with a shrug of his shoulders.

Later on he takes Fern and Howard to the city beneath the city where they meet Ubleenheat (who is secretly to blue queen) when she is about to give a speech which will actually hypnotize all to anybodies. Later on Fern turns Howard into a piggybank to hold the key to the castle. The Blue Queen takes the key and she and Fern battle in the castle.

Fern defeats the Blue Queen and rescues her grandmother’s husband and turns Howard back into his human body. They get back home and Fern looks at the Art of Being an Anybody and looks to find Fern Defeats the Blue Queen.

I think The Somebodies is a very good book to read and I suggest that everyone should read it because it is a heart warming story of families, friends, and enemies.
