Airworthiness Review Inspections Required for Airworthiness Under FAR 91.409 Annual Inspection IAW Part 43. If aircraft is carrying any person for hire, or used for flight instruction for hire, 100 hour inspection IAW Part 43. Or if approved, a Progressive Inspection IAW Part 43. Airworthiness Review Responsibility The owner or operator of an aircraft is primarily responsible for maintaining the aircraft in an airworthy condition. (FAR 91.403) The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for, and is the final authority as to, the operation of that aircraft. (FAR 91.3)

Airworthiness Review Service Letter Issued by the manufacturer of the aircraft or component. Usually deals with recommended procedures for an operator. Usually becomes a Service Bulletin.
