David Macaulay Publications, Awards, and Highlights  He has 26 publications ranging from He also published a CD-ROM video game in 1998 called Pinball Science.  His numerous awards include MacArthur Fellows Program award, the Caldecott Medal, the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award, the Christopher Award, an American Institute of Architects Medal, the Washington Children's Book Guild Nonfiction Award, the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis, the Dutch Silver Slate Pencil Award, and the Bradford Washburn Award, presented by the Museum of Science in Boston to an outstanding contributor to science.  In June 2007 the National Building Museum opened a one-year exhibition of his work, "David Macaulay, the Art of Drawing Architecture"  Macaulay currently lives in Norwich, Vermont. Born December 2, 1946 in Lancashire, England. He moved to Bloomfield, NJ when he was 11 years old. After graduating from high school in Cumberland, Rhode Island in 1964, he enrolled in the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), from which he received a bachelor's degree in architecture. He spent his fifth year at RISD in the European Honors Program, studying in Rome.

Major Works This was his first book published in It is a history, extensively illustrated with pen-and-ink drawings, of the construction of a fictitious but representative Gothic cathedral. Cathedral's numerous awards include a prestigious Caldecott Honor and designation as a New York Times Best Illustrated Book of the Year for Macaulay's intricate pen-and-ink illustrations. This book was also winner of the 1975 Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis for children's non-fiction.

Major Works This is book was published in 2008 after putting in 7 years of extensive research to gain the knowledge and understanding on how the human body works. This is a comprehensive and entertaining book. David Macaulay reveals the inner workings of the human body. The book's concept was later developed into a short-lived animated TV show.

Major Works Released by Houghton Mifflin, it was the recipient of the Caldecott Medal for illustration in The book contains four different illustrated stories told at once, two on the left hand page and two on the right. Each story has a distinct artistic style; however, they all share similar characters, themes and plot elements leading the reader to believe that the four stories may or may not be one story told from different points of view.
