In 1901 Willis Havilland Carrier graduated from Cornell University with a masters degree in Engineering

 Only one year after Willis Carrier graduated the first AC unit was working

 In 1906 the apparatus for treating air patent was granted to Carrier

 In 1915, Carrier formed the Carrier Engineering Corporation

 In 1921 Carrier patented the centrifugal refrigeration machine which was the first good method to cool large areas

 During the Great Depression the air conditioner for personal use sales dropped drastically
