Multiplication (with 1 Digit Numbers) Just imagine that you live on a street filled with students your age. They are all eager to play, but you must follow the rules each time to be sure you play with all of them and not leave anyone out.

Multiplication (with 1 Digit Numbers) Your neighborhood is rather new, therefore there aren’t many houses on your street. Fortunately, each house has a fourth grader living in it that loves to play after school.

Multiplication (with 1 Digit Numbers) It only makes since for you to first go to the house closest to yours and see if that kid wants to play. Playing alone is fun, but when you have someone else to play with, the fun is multiplied! X 1 st

STEP 1: IT ONLY MAKES SINCE FOR YOU TO FIRST GO TO THE HOUSE CLOSEST TO YOURS AND SEE IF THAT KID WANTS TO PLAY. PLAYING ALONE IS FUN, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE SOMEONE ELSE TO PLAY WITH, THE FUN IS MULTIPLIED! 2 4 X 3 X ______________________

Multiplication (with 1 Digit Numbers) After you play (X) with your first neighbor, you are extremely exhausted! You then go back home to lay down and rest. *Write your product under the line. If your product is larger than 9, you must keep the number in the ones place and carry the tens

STEP 2: AFTER YOU PLAY (X) WITH YOUR FIRST NEIGHBOR, YOU ARE EXTREMELY EXHAUSTED! YOU THEN GO BACK HOME TO LAY DOWN AND REST. *WRITE YOUR PRODUCT UNDER THE LINE. IF YOUR PRODUCT IS LARGER THAN 9, YOU MUST KEEP THE NUMBER IN THE ONES PLACE AND CARRY THE TENS X 3 2 X ______________________

Multiplication (with 1 Digit Numbers) You are well rested and ready to play with a new friend. Now you will visit the next house down the street. Playing alone is fun, but when you have someone else to play with, the fun is multiplied! X 2 nd

STEP 2: YOU ARE WELL RESTED AND READY PLAY WITH A NEW FRIEND. NOW YOU WILL VISIT THE NEXT HOUSE DOWN THE STREET. PLAYING ALONE IS FUN, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE SOMEONE ELSE TO PLAY WITH, THE FUN IS MULTIPLIED! 2 4 X 3 X ______________________

STEP 2: AFTER YOU PLAY (X) WITH YOUR SECOND NEIGHBOR, YOU ARE EXTREMELY EXHAUSTED! YOU THEN GO BACK HOME TO LAY DOWN AND REST. *IF YOU CARRIED A NUMBER TO THE 2 ND HOUSE, MULTIPLY FIRST, THEN ADD WHAT YOU CARRIED TO THE PRODUCT X X ______________________
