Week #1: Chosen and Humble May 25, 2014

 A few questions  Heated by fire

 Can we relate to a king?  Normal man with normal flaws  “Useful to the Master…”

 Contrast of the men…  1 Samuel 13:13-14 and 9:1-2  But also a context of the people…  1 Samuel 8:1-9

 Servant of God dealing with (imperfect) man  1 Samuel 15:23-26  1 Samuel 16:1-2

 God did not want a king…He already was!  Why Saul was chosen  Question: what would you have been looking for in the future king?

 1 Samuel 16:3-13  Even Samuel got caught up in appearances  “There is still the youngest, but he is…with the sheep!”

 So how does God view the heart of a leader?  Spirituality  Humility  Integrity  His Name is Bill
