1. P OTENTIAL E NERGY Noun. Still energy rather like a raised weight, coiled spring, or charged battery has potential energy.

2. K INETIC E NERGY noun. The energy possessed by a body because of its motion, as a result of its motion.

3. J OULE The International System unit of electrical, mechanical, and thermal energy. A unit of energy equal to the work done when a force of 1 newton acts through a distance of 1 meter.

4. W ATTAGE noun. An amount of power, especially electric power, expressed in watts or kilowatts. The electric power required by an appliance or device.

5. R ENEWABLE ENERGY energy which comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat, which are renewable (naturally replenished)

6. N ONRENEWABLE ENERGY an energy resource that is not replaced or is replaced only very slowly by natural processes. Like fossil fuels-- oil, natural gas, and coal.

7. W EATHER STRIPPING is the process of sealing openings such as in doors, windows, and trunks from the elements. The goal of weather stripping is to prevent rain and water from entering by blocking it..

8. I NSULATION noun. A material or substance used in insulating: soundproof cork

9. R F ACTOR A NUMERIC MEASURE OF A MATERIALS ABILITY TO INSULATE AGAINST HEAT OR COLD AND FOR WINDOWS.

10. G REENHOUSE E MMISSIONS gases in an atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation within the thermal infrared range.

11. T HERMOSTAT a device for regulating the temperature of a system so that the system's temperature is maintained near a desired set point temperature

12. A MBIENT TEMPERATURE is the air temperature of any environment where computers and related equipment are kept. Surrounding a power supply or cooling medium.

quality or degree to which someone or something possesses adequate skill or knowledge for the performance of a duty. 13. Efficiency

14. C ARBON F OOTPRINT the total set of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions caused by an organization, event or product“ a measure of the amount of carbon dioxide produced by a person, organization, or location at a given time

15. A UDIT an evaluation of a person, organization, process, project or product to ascertain the validity and reliability of information; also to provide an assessment of a system's internal control.
