Name of Museum It was rumored that if King Tut’s tomb is entered, then the person who entered would be cursed and have bad luck and soon, would die. The written words of the curse said “Death shall come on swift wings to him that touches the tomb of the Pharaoh”. Soon after the words were found by.King Tut’s tomb is like a grave. It honors someone who died. King Tut’s real name is Tutankhamun, Tutankhamon or Tutankhamen. King Tut became pharaoh in 1332 B.C. when he was nine years old and died around 1322 B.C. or 1323 B.C. when he was nineteen or eighteen years old. He had many injuries, such as a broken leg and a cleft palate. He may have been killed by malaria. He was buried in a tomb in the Valley of the Kings, near Thebes and the tomb was full of treasures and had five rooms. It was found for the first time in 1922 in Egypt by british archeologist Howard Carter. It was one of the first tombs of an Ancient Egyptian king that was found completely unharmed in any way. Art in King Tut’s tomb proves that Ancient Egypt was an important civilization. Introduction Back to Room 1

Name of Museum King Tut’s tomb is full of beautiful art. In King Tut’s tomb, Howard Carter and the archeologists found a necklace on Tut’s mummy. It portrays three beetles holding disks. The disks are supposed to act as Earth’s sun and it’s moon. The death mask on Tutankhamun's face was supposed to look like a face, and was shaped from real gold. There were golden statues and some furniture like tables and chairs inside of the tomb. The furniture was made of gold to honor This is how the art in King Tut’s tomb proves that Ancient Egypt is an important civilization. Body Paragraph Back to Room 2
