Pg 1 BRM (Business Relationship Map) BRM is a tool that: -Links the company strategy to core processes while identifying key business measures -Points us to the areas that need improvement, then we can develop a process specific value stream map (VSM) to drive down to individual projects or project clusters -Helps us focus on the critical core processes while de-prioritizing non-critical areas -Enables senior leaders to provide specific, detailed and accurate direction to the Lean Six Sigma imitative. -Provides a qualitative and quantitative understanding of the current state of the business BRM Hierarchy: -Company strategy, vision and mission are at 50,000 ft level -BRM helps evaluate business at 30,000 ft level -Enterprise End to End Value Stream Maps (VSM’s) helps evaluate business at 15,000 ft level -Typically Black Belt projects are chartered at 5,000 ft level -Typically Green Belt projects are chartered at 2,000 ft level A first step in analyzing a company’s process flows. The intent is to begin the journey towards a process focused organization from a functional focused organization
