What is inside of a library? \ The library has shelves with books. Most libraries have a working place that you can use the computers and do desk work. These are some things in a library: Books Tables to work at Stuffed animals Reading corner Bean bags Rules Librarians Posters Hand sanitizers Magazines Computers

Organization in a Library The books are organized by three- digit numbers on the spine of the book. Such as: 000s General Books 100s Philosophy and Psychology 200s Religion and Mythology 300s Social Studies 400s Languages 500s Math and Natural Science 600s Applied Science 700s Art and Recreation 800s Literature 900s History and Geography

Finding and Checking out Books The OPAC is an online catalog to help you find the books you want to take out. You type in the title or genre and then choices come up and you can look and choose what you want to take out and look in the corner to see if it is in or out. If it says in that means the book is in the library. The book has a call number that tells you where you can find the book. Then you can get it out. When you check a book out, you take your card and scan it so the computer knows you’re checking that book out. The scanner scans out the book and tells you have it out.
