 Must one be born of water and the Spirit per John 3:5?  Does the Holy Spirit dwell in Christians today?  Does The Holy Spirit guide, strengthen and comfort Christians today?  Are believers, by one Spirit, baptized into one body today? (1 Cor 12:13) Should believers today expect to receive Holy Spirit baptism, (evidenced by speaking in tongues), like the apostles did in Acts 2?

Jesus John’s Generic Prophecy: Mat 3:11; Mar 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33 To Apostles John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:13-15; John 20:19-26; Acts 1:1-8; Apostles Acts 2:1-4; Acts 11:15; House of Cornelius Acts 10:44-46; Acts 11:15;

WHO? Matthew 3:5-12 (NKJV) 5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him 6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

The WHO includes the Pharisees and Sadducees Matthew 3:5-12 (NKJV) 10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Not US!)  These passages specify the administrator – NOT the recipients! Matthew 3:11 (NKJV) He... is mightier than I,... He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Mark 1:8 (NKJV) 8... John 1:33 (NKJV) 'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'

Acts 1:2-5 (NKJV) 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God....

Acts 1:2-5 (NKJV) 4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

Acts 1:26-2:14 (NKJV) 26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles. 1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

If Holy Spirit Baptism is for the church today, then Water Baptism has been done away! Jesus “There is ONLY one baptism”

John 3:3,5 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."... Acts 2:16-21 (NKJV) 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. “It will HAPPEN” – Does NOT Imply that the signs will continue – even though the results DO! God did! Thus fulfilled – Acts 2 & 10 They Did – Acts 21:9 NOT throughout those days All Christians Did NOT Prophesy! – 1 Cor. 12:28-29

Acts 2:16-21 (NKJV) 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.' “It will HAPPEN” – The day is coming... The signs would confirm the substance – But the signs were NOT the substance themselves! “It will HAPPEN” – The day is coming... The signs would confirm the substance – But the signs were NOT the substance themselves! “SHALL BE SAVED” - This is the GIFT - the SUBSTANCE to which all the signs pointed - which God promises to ALL who call!

BY Spirit’s Teaching Baptized 1 Corinthians 12:13 (NKJV) 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.  The Holy Spirit influences one to be baptized through that which He revealed –  He is NOT The element!

BY Spirit’s Teaching Baptized 1 Corinthians 12:13 (NKJV) 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. “BY” - a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), — Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary

BY Spirit’s Teaching Baptized 1 Cor 1:12-13 (NKJV) "I am of Paul," Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?  Two things required for one to belong to Jesus – 4His Blood – 1 Pet 1:18,19 4Baptism in His Name – Acts 18:8;2:38; 10:47,48  JESUS DIED FOR THEM & They were baptized in the name of Christ - Therefore: They belonged to Christ!!

 The preposition "by" has the idea of instrumentality - not that we are baptized "with the Spirit"  The Holy Spirit leads us by the instrument of the word to be baptized into Christ. (cf. 1 Peter 1:22-25)  This baptism, (the one New Testament baptism), is water baptism. (Acts 8:12; 2:38; 10:47,48)

 By One Spirit I Believe That Jesus Is The Christ – (John 20:30.31)  By One Spirit I Confessed Jesus As The Christ – (1 Cor 12:3)  By One Spirit I Repented of My Sins – (Rev 3:19-22)  By One Spirit I Was Baptized INTO Christ – (1 Cor 12:13; Rom 6:3-6)  By One Spirit I Serve The Lord – (Rom 8:1,2,5,13,14)

Acts 8:12-17 (NKJV) 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:44-48 (NKJV) 44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

 Sin separates a person from God – Is 59:1,2; Rom 6:23  The blood of Jesus cleanses a person of his sins – Ep 1:7; Col 1:14  The blood is found ONLY in Christ – Rom. 3:24; Eph 1:3; Col. 1:14 No Sin – BUT Still Lost - & Outside Christ Alien Lost Sinner – YET IN Christ
