WELCOME TO THE W. H. ADAMSON LIBRARY

LIBRARIANS

LIBRARY HOURS Monday – Friday 8:15 am to 5:15 pm PLEASE SIGN IN at the circulation desk. Hall Passes needed for: Before School During Lunch After School NOTE: During the day, students must have a written pass with their name, date and a teacher signature.

LIBRARY RULES Follow all School Rules Be Safe Be Respectful Be Responsible House Keeping Reminders  No food/drinks in the library.  Throw away any trash in your area and clean up when you leave.  Push Chairs in.

LIBRARY PROCEDURES CHECKOUT INFORMATION  Student ID badges will be scanned to check out books  There is NO limit to the number of items a patron can check out.  Items are checked out for 2 weeks, but patrons can renew books repeatedly.  Students must pay for lost or damaged items.  If our school does not have the book you are looking for, we can request a loan of the item from any other DISD School.

LIBRARY CATALOG The Dallas ISD Library Public Access Catalog (PAC) is available on all computers and should be used as your first source for materials. Ask a librarian for assistance if needed. Click on the link below to search for a book. Library Catalog Access from Home Place a HOLD Renew your Books Log in using your ID as your username and the last 4 digits of your ID # as the password.

ID BADGES  Must be worn in the library.  They will be used to check out your books.

LIBRARY COMPUTERS Computers are available before school, during lunch, after school or with a pass from your teacher unless a class has reserved them. Students must log in to the computer using their student ID & password. Students should set up their security questions at to retrieve their password if forgotten. Students are allowed to print school related assignments in the library. There is no fee. NOTE: Using the Internet is a privilege. Misusing it will result in your not being allowed to access the Internet using library computers. There will be no warnings, after the first infraction, you will be banned from using the computers in the library.

DO’S AND DON’TS Do…. Model Good Behavior – be respectful. Clean up after yourself. Have your ID badge ready for scanning at the circulation desk. Bring all needed writing materials. Return your books in a timely manner. Don’t…. Eat in the library. Chew gum. Disrupt others. Move furniture or leave trash. Use computers inappropriately.

Coming the Library is a privilege. Not adhering to policies and procedures may result in being asked to leave. You will receive one verbal warning.
