Meteorological Data Processing National and Regional Perspective of Socio- economic benefits of weather, climate and water resources Kuwait National Meteorology Center

Meteorological Data Processing National and Regional Perspective of Socio-economic benefits of weather, climate and water resources Kuwait National Meteorology Center oTo ensure that NMHSs respond adequately to societal challenges, 1-Maintenance of their infrastructure; 2-Capacity building to ensure desirable competencies, especially in the area of accurate weather forecast 3-Clear understanding of what partnership means, with the aim of working towards effective and productive partnership 4-Participation in policy development and implementation at all levels; 5-Continuous review of their capability and their method of operation in tandem with new and emerging challenges

Meteorological Data Processing National and Regional Perspective of Socio-economic benefits of weather, climate and water resources Kuwait National Meteorology Center With regard to the 2007 Madrid Conference, NMHSs and users should make effort to attend the conference and PRs should consider how to actively encourage users from their respective countries to take part in the conference. To ensure continuous and productive dialogue between producers and users of meteorological and hydrological products, NMHSs and WMO should consider similar events at national and regional levels

Meteorological Data Processing National and Regional Perspective of Socio-economic benefits of weather, climate and water resources Kuwait National Meteorology Center Noting that there is growing recognition among the meteorological community of the importance in assessing the costs and benefits of meteorological information, WMO needs to coordinate activities and assist Members in this direction.

The KNMC uses Advanced Technology to Provide Accurate and Reliable Weather Services Kuwait National Meteorology Center Doppler Weather Radar Numerical Weather Production Satellite Imagery HYSPLIT Model

Kuwait National Meteorology Center Doppler Weather Radar Able to deduct and observe severe weather phenomena like Gust wind, Heavy rain, thunderstorm, and Hail in advanced

Thursday Case Thunderstorm was observed at 13:36 GMT at the western border of Kuwait. Applied Meteorologists were able to fellow the system and issued a warning for gust wind and the amount of rain 3 hours before arriving to the resident areas. Kuwait National Meteorology Center

Satellite Imagery The forecasters can spot the frontal system and dust storm 12 to 24 hours before striking residential and industrial areas.

Kuwait National Meteorology Center The regional NWP can provide us with 24, 36, 48, and 72 hours forecasting charts, which will enhances forecasting techniques Numerical Weather Production
