Our patron – António Augusto de Rocha Peixoto (1866/1909) Birthdate – 18th May 1866 Birthplace – Póvoa de Varzim Life and work Naturalist, ethnologist, archaeologist ; Organized the Cabinet of Mineralogy, Geology and palaeontology of the Polytechnic Academy of Porto Directed the Public Library and Municipal Museum of Porto Creator of a very important magazine called “Portugália” Responsible for the archaeological discovery of “ Cividade de Terroso” – celtic Ruins
A brief history of our school 1919 (August) - The school was created 1924 (21st November ) – It became “Escola Industrial e Comercial de Rocha Peixoto” (Rocha Peixoto Industry and Commerce School ) 1952 – It functioned in the old Postiga Palace up to this date 1962 ( 16th June) – It functioned in the old Gas Factory up to this date 1962 (2nd June) – The current building was inaugurated 2009 – Enlargement, improvement and modernization works
