Rules, Procedures and Goals January 8, 2012

Capitalization Rules  Capitalize all proper nouns.  Example: Please walk to the office with John. We will go to Copperas Cove now. Yesterday, I went to Target.  Capitalize the first word of each sentence.  Example: I have always wanted to be a teacher. My professors liked to give a lot of work in my college classes. Even though it was hard I still made it.

Rules and Procedures for Our Classroom  Bottom in your seat when the bell rings or you are tardy.  Warm-ups  Done at the start of every class.  Quiz will be given on Fridays over the concept covered.  Once a rule is covered, every time you fail to follow that rule on any assignment you turn in you will lose 1 point.

Rules and Procedures for Our Classroom  Be respectful to adults and your class mates.  Do not talk while others are speaking.  Raise your hand and wait to be called on.  Always do you BEST work, ask for help if you need it.  Come to class prepared  Everyday you need a pencil, paper, library card, a book to read and any homework assignments.  *****DO NOT STEAL MY STUFF****  ASK AND I MAY LET YOU BORROW IT BUT DO NOT TAKE ANY OF MY PERSONAL BELONINGS INCLUDING PENCILS- Yesterday I had 3 NEW pencils taken from me!

Red Tickets  Red tickets are a reward.  They will not be given every time you do something “right” or “good”.  You will not get a ticket if you ask for a ticket.  If students complain or whine about the tickets we will stop doing them. There will be a drawing ONCE a six weeks for the winner from each class period. The winner will be able to select their “prize” or “gift” from the options provided. I expect all students to be good sports about the prize drawings or we will not do them. *If a specific class is EXTRA special or deserves extra rewards Teacher may choose to do and “Surprise” drawing. –DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN

If I am out: Introduction  I have written an introduction for anytime their may be a sub in this class. The introduction covers my expectations for you while I am out Schedule  There is a copy of the schedule left for a sub. They know the bell DOES NOT release you and have been instructed to wait for the room the be quiet and all students sitting before class is dismissed.

If I am out: Attendance  Let the sub call role while you work SILENTLY on your warm-up.  If they get your name wrong, let them know in a polite mature way how to say it correct but do not waist class time.  The sub already has been told WHO will take attendance and in case they are gone they have been given a back up person also.  There are NO bathroom breaks while I am out, and NO ONE can leave the room for any reason. Seating Chart  The sub will be left a seating chart.  If you are not in your assigned seat it will be a time out (no questions).  If you have been given permission to sit somewhere else, it is null in void while I am out- Sit where your sticker is on the seating chart

If I am out: Procedures  None of the rules or expectations will change while I am out.  IF a sub is doing something different DO NOT ARGUE with them.  Do as they say! When I return you can discuss it with me then.  DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE SUB!!! Classroom Management  Be on your BEST behavior!  You are representing me while I am gone PLEASE make me proud!  DO NOT GET YOUR NAME LEFT FOR ME BY THE SUB!

If I am out: Emergency Procedures:  Be mature and responsible.  Do what needs to be done.  Help the sub by staying quiet and getting to where you need to be!  Do not cause any extra problems!!!!!

ANY QUESTIONS??

My Journey to become a Teacher By: Ms. Farish

As a kid: I have always wanted to be a teacher. -I like to be organized -I like to see others succeed. -I like to talk It is what I have always know I would do!!!

In High School I had a teacher tell me “Teachers don’t make enough money” so I started to rethink what I have always wanted to do….. Then I did some research…. And found out they make a salary that is livable, so I decided to continue my pursuit in becoming a teacher.

In College When I graduated High School my dad was in Iraq so I had to get into a college on my own….. Once there the work was hard and I wanted to stop many times BUT I kept thinking of my goal and pushed though.

But College was fun too…. I won awards We drew pictures & Eventually I Graduated!!
