ANCIENT EGYPTIAN FASHION BY: ANJALI

~ The women and men used makeup on their eyes and lips. ~They also used powder called kohl to darken their lashes. ~ Their red cheek powder was called ochre. ~When women wanted their hair to smell nice they would wear a cone of scented fat which would slowly melt and let out a good smell.

~The jewelry they wore were rings, necklaces and ear studs. ~The jewelry was made from gold or colourful beads. ~Jewelry was very popular throughout the Egyptian nation. ~The queens of Egypt were mostly always buried with a lot of jewelry to be used in the after life.

~The ancient Egyptian fashion did not include much foot wear because of their warm weather. ~ But the ones who could afford footwear would have them. ~The sandals they wore commonly had jewels and beads, and they were made from palm fiber or braided papyrus. A Papyrus (a tall water plant that grows in the Nile)

~Most of the population had a shaved head underneath their wig because it was a sign of cleanliness and social status. ~Those Egyptians who wore a wig, wore a different one everyday. ~They would wear a curled wig for special occasions ~Their wigs were made out of human hair or wool.

~The clothing they wore included many different colours. ~For their clothes they used linen because it would keep cool and comfortable in the hot climate. ~The Egyptians cared a lot about their appearance because they did not get “new style”, so they took pride in keeping there clothes spotlessly clean.
