Aims of Year 4/5 Children at the heart of learning Developing Independence – children to take the lead for their own learning as this develops progress and target awareness. To build on previous key skills developed – focusing on Literacy and Numeracy skills.

Reward Systems Important to build confidence and self belief Whole class approach – class treat Group approach – table points Individual approach – star charts Peer approach – star spies and pupils award prizes at the end of the day.

Homework At the beginning of the tem, Topic packs will be handed out (to be handed in when completed on a weekly bases) Tuesday – Spelling (new spelling words to be given, test the following week) Thursday – Maths homework (will build on what has been taught during the week) Regular practise of times table recall
