Presentation transcript:

game time!

 Now, we’re going to do an activity.  In groups, all of you are going to complete a matching activity.  Each group will be given an envelope and 2 pieces of coloured paper  In the envelope you will find:  Blu tack  Slips of paper in 3 sets

 These 3 sets of paper each contain different information  Quote  Literary device  Effectiveness

 Your task is simple. Match the appropriate quote to what type of literary device it is to why is it effective  You are to arrange your quotes in the order in which they appear in the poem  So obviously you have to refer to your poem  So, for example…

Old beggars… Literary device Effectiveness Quote Literary device Effectiveness Quote Literary device Effectiveness Innocent tongues… Literary device Effectiveness

 You will work together in groups of 6.  You are to put your tables together in fours.  You are not to make excessive noise.  Why?  Because the group which finishes the first, with 100% accuracy, will get a prize!  If you say you’ve finished, and I check your work and there are mistakes, I will have to ask you to work on it again.

 Everybody clear with the instructions?  Have fun!
