After wrapping up camp, what COULD you do?  In hospital programs  Financial Assistance/Scholarships  Sibling programs  Bereavement programs  Teen Programs  Family Retreats/Activities  Partner with like minded-organizations  Others??

In Hospital Programming  End of chemo parties  Special visitors (singers, actors, sports stars)  Holiday parties  Meals  Out of school activities (fall break, spring break)  Camp In’s (bring the fun of camp to the hospital setting)  Others

Financial Assistance/Scholarships  Gas cards  Parking vouchers  Restaurant giftcards  Medical bills/Co pays  Prescriptions  Scholarships to attend college or trade school

Sibling Programming  Camp (with oncology patients or solo)  Sibling weekender  Support services Bereavement Programs  Family Retreat for those who have lost a child  Financial assistance for funeral costs  Support services  Incorporate those families into camp somehow

Teen Programs  Teen Only activities  Teen weekender Family Programs  Family Retreat/Camp  Scheduled outings - quarterly, monthly, annually  Special parent activities, mom only, dad only

Partner with like-minded organizations  Gilda’s Club (national)  Icing Smiles (national)  Flashes of Hope (national)  Jarrett’s Joy Cart (local)  Children’s Hospitals (local)  Many others! Who do you partner with?

Implementation  What’s your mission?  Does this new program support your mission? (if the answer is no, stop now!)  Who: Who are you serving? Who is responsible? Who do you need to recruit?  What: What are you doing? What supplies will you need? What skills do you need?  Where: Where is the program taking place? How will you promote it?  When: What’s the date and time? Will it conflict with anything?  Why: What’s your goal, do you have measurable outcomes, ways to evaluate?  Determine the scope of your program. Is it big or little, is it a one time event or year- round  How much will this cost? Who’s going too pay for it? Grants, specific donors, general operating funds.  Lastly: What does success look like? How does it feel? (opposite of measurable outcome)
